Weight Training Advice
Different Body Types
strength and size gains. You can control all of these factors. However, there is one factor you can't control - your genetics. Everybody's different, and some people are more genetically inclined to weight training success. If you weight train properly based on your body type, you'll achieve gains no matter what body type you have.

People are split up by 3 different body types - ectomorphs, endomorphs, and mesomorphs. Ectomorphs are naturally skinny people with long limbs. Building muscle strength and size is usually tougher for ectomorphs than the other body types. Endomorphs are people who tend carry more body fat. They can build muscle size and strength faster than ectomorphs but have a harder time getting muscle definition. Mesomorphs are natural athletes and have the easiest time getting into optimal shape. Most people are a combination of these 3 body types. Look at a guy like Shaquille O'Neal, he has long limbs, but would you consider him an ectomorph?

If you have ectomorphic tendencies, it's best to lift with lower reps during your weight training sets for the most part to gain muscle size and strength. You'll want to gain strength so size gains will follow. If you're an ectomorph, you can eat more without having to worry about gaining body fat. Make sure you eat a lot of protein and carbs and you should gain weight. Make sure you get plenty of rest if you're an ectomorph, as it's easier to overtrain for you than endomorphs or mesomorphs.

You'll want to lift with a higher rep range during your weight training sets if you have endomorphic tendencies. You don't have to go with the higher rep sets all of the time, but at least make sure you do aerobic training regularly to keep fat off. If you're an endomorph it's best to eat a lot of protein and avoid eating too many carbohydrates and fats if you're trying to get more definition.

If you're a mesomorph, muscle strength and size gains should come easily for you. Just follow a good weight training routine and avoid overtraining. Eat a balanced diet of protein, carbs, and fats.

Since most people are a combination of these 3 body types you can be ecto-mesomorphic and have a slim, muscular build, or you can be endo-mesomorphic and gain muscle size easily while holding extra body fat.

No matter what body type or combination of body types you are, you can get the desired results if you weight train the right way.properly based on your body type, you'll achieve gains no matter what body type you have.
Some people respond quicker to weight training than others. There are many reasons for this. If you train harder, eat better, and avoid overtrained, you'll be on the right track to
